Botany Field Team Lead - Great Basin Institute

In cooperation with the National Park Service and Capitol Reef National Park, the Great Basin Institute is recruiting a Botany Field Team Lead to join our AmeriCorps program. The Botany Field Team Lead will support the Capitol Reef National Park Division of Resource Management & Science and serve as a member of the rare plant monitoring crew assisting resource staff with surveys and demographic monitoring of three federally listed plant species.

The California Academy of Sciences is seeking candidates who specialize in western North American plants (especially Californian), examining a wide range of topics, including their evolution, diversity, or ecology; Candidates who could potentially work with our extensive research collections and our emerging California Initiative will be especially welcome. We also seek candidates with leadership in science communication and engagement, and an interest in increasing diversity in science.

Botanical Outreach and Communication Coordinator (Washington D.C.)

Applicants are being sought o assist with outreach efforts related to Seeds of Success and the Plant Conservation and Restoration Program of BLM, communicating with a wide variety of audiences including federal, state, local, and tribal agencies and elected officials; non-governmental organizations and interest groups; industry; traditional and new media outlets; public land users; and other stakeholders.

Conservation and Land Management Internships

The Conservation and Land Management Internship Program places 75-100 college graduates in five-month paid internships to assist biologists with federal (BLM, NPS, FWS, FS, USGS, etc.) and non-profit partners. Interns gain hands-on experience applying their education in real-world setting, make connections in various governmental and non-profit organizations. Applicants with strong botany experience are especially encouraged to apply!

Tenure Track Assistant Professor - Plant Biologist, Oklahoma State

The Department of Plant Biology, Ecology, and Evolution at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin August 2019. The ideal candidate will address fundamental questions in biology with research interests in plant secondary metabolism (broadly defined), including specialties such as biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and/or ethnobotany of plant secondary metabolites, or other related fields. Women and minority candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
