Joint BSA/ASPT award funds sustainability workshop in the Dominican Republic
The 2017 Botany Advocacy Leadership Award provided funds for awardee Jackeline Salazar to hold a sustainability workshop for women on August 31st, 2017, in Oviedo, Perdenales, Dominican Republic. The workshop was entitled "Plant Conservation and Sustainable Management by women in the Jaragua-Bahoruco-Enriquillo Biosphere Reserve, Dominican Republic: Community Workshop and Local Capacity” and was a great success!
Chatham Fellowship in Medicinal Botany
The Garden Club of America’s Anne S. Chatham Fellowship in Medicinal Botany provides at least one grant award of $4,500 annually to support research related to medicinal plants.

Field trip support for students attending Botany 2017
The Botanical Society of America Systematics Section and the American Society of Plant Taxonomists are providing financial support for students to participate in field trips at Botany 2017. We will provide up to $100 to 40 student members from either society
