2013 Travel Grants for Students

The ASPT Membership Committee is happy to announce that the popular student travel grant lottery from last year will be continued this year. The ASPT Council approved 45 travel grants for $300 each. Please see the application form for instructions.

Please encourage your graduate students, or undergraduates if you have a particularly motivated student who would benefit from attending the meeting, to apply for a travel grant. Graduate students must obtain the signature of the major advisor (to confirm status as a currently enrolled graduate student in plant systematics) and be a current member of ASPT (enrollment status will be verified, please renew memberships prior to submitting applications). Undergraduate students need not be members, but they must obtain the signature of the mentor or sponsor to apply. All applications will go into a single pool, from which 45 winners will be drawn randomly. If you are a student who received a travel grant last year, you may apply again with no restrictions.

Travel grant recipients will receive a check for $300 or $300 plus the cost of an ASPT banquet ticket if a receipt for a purchased banquet ticket is provided.

Please note that applications must be received by 18 March 2013, in order to select and notify the winners in advance of the April 5, Botany 2013 abstract submission deadline.
