Society Information / Awards and Funding / ASPT Herbarium Emergency Fund
The American Society of Plant Taxonomists has created an Herbarium Emergency Fund to provide support for herbaria that have sustained damage as a consequence of natural disasters, such as the devastation caused by hurricane Katrina. We have created an ad hoc committee to evaluate requests for assistance and identify additional ways that ASPT can provide financial or volunteer assistance. Lucinda McDade (lucinda.mcdade@cgu.edu), at Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden, chairs this committee.
Please contact Lucinda McDade (lucinda.mcdade@cgu.edu) or Dick Jensen (rjensen@saintmarys.edu) if you have suggestions for this effort. If you wish to make a donation to a relief effort, please go to http://www.aspt.net/society/members/renew.php, click the renewal link, fill in the asterisked fields (last name, first name, city), make sure the default setting is in the membership payment field ("None- Donation only or Miscellaneous payment - $0.00"), go to the end and complete the credit card information, enter the amount in the "Miscellaneous Donation" field, and be sure to specify ASPT Herbarium Emergency Fund in the text box immediately below the Miscellaneous Donation field.
You can also make donations by sending a check or money order, payable to
"ASPT Herbarium Emergency Fund", to the ASPT business office at:
