A permanent position as associate professor in systematic botany is open at the University Museum of Bergen, the Natural History Collections (DNS),(http://www.uib.no/universitymuseum).
We are seeking an active researcher focusing on plant evolution, who has expertise in systematics of vascular plants and phylogenetics. Relevant fields of research are evolutionary relationships, taxonomy and species diversity of vascular plants, and evolutionary processes generating biodiversity. Applicants must be able to document research with international standards within one or more of these fields.
This position entails the scientific responsibility for a botanic garden that is more than a century old; the Museum Garden. The successful applicant will also be scientifically responsible for the botanical exhibitions at the museum, and will take part in the development of new natural history exhibitions which are currently being planned. He or she will also be expected to take part in the teaching of botany at UiB.
