The Emory University Herbarium contains more than 19,000 specimens from the around the globe, but primarily represents the southeastern United States. The Collection Manager will work with, and report to, the Curator of the Emory University Herbarium. Duties include overseeing all aspects of the management and utilization of the Herbarium collection, including primary responsibility for collection maintenance, launching and managing digitization initiatives, specimen identification, inventory and cataloging, database management, loan processing, and coordinating activities of student assistants and volunteers. The position also involves assistance in preparation of grant proposals for collection support. Advanced computer skills, including database and website management are required. Depending on qualifications and interests, participation in the field and collections based research will be encouraged. This position is funded for three years.
