The primary responsibilities as Scientist at AuthenTechnologies will be to develop, direct, and execute DNA-based botanical testing and research services. The Scientist will be an individual contributor who will work at the bench as well as write protocols and methods, perform data evaluations, provide presentations of work in progress, and write reports. The Senior Scientist will work closely with other internal scientists and laboratory technicians.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities of the Scientist will include, but are not limited to:
1. Analytical method development, validation and execution including PCR, sequencing, Next Generation Sequencing, and microsatellites (SSRs) and associated data analysis such as DNA sequence alignment, phylogenetic analyses, genotype analysis, and interpretation of results.
2.Maintaining and building outside collaborations with botanical gardens and herbaria, and obtaining and authenticating botanical voucher specimens.
3. Maintaining knowledge of current Federal regulations such as FDA’s current Good Manufacturing practices as they relate to analytical methodology and validation.
4. Working other scientists and laboratory technicians on development and quality control processes including analytical techniques, practices, compliance, documentation, and data evaluation.
5. Writing internal protocols, methods, reports and publications.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
1.Ph.D., M.S. with 2+ years experience, or BS with 5+ years of experience in botanical genetics and systematics or a related scientific field.
2.Must have experience with DNA extraction, PCR, DNA sequencing, genotyping, and associated data analysis and interpretation.
3.Must have excellent writing and presentation skills.
4.Experience working in a FDA regulated environment preferred.
5.Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate fruitfully with colleagues.
