AuthenTechnologies LLC is a fast-growing start-up in the San Francisco Bay Area specializing in DNA botanical identity testing for the natural product, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries. In addition to providing contract-testing services to some of the nation’s top companies, we are performing novel research in medicinal herb authentication using DNA technologies. We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and hard-working individual to assist with numerous aspects of the company including: performance of genetic laboratory procedures such as DNA extractions, amplifications, and preparation of samples for microsatellite and DNA-sequencing analyses; maintenance of records and data; development of genetic botanical authentication methods; performance of botanical species identifications (using morphology and DNA); and preparation and sampling of herbarium voucher specimens. Applicant must have experience working in a laboratory as well as knowledge of botanical taxonomy and genetic methods, with a B.A./B.S. or M.A/M.S. in botany or biological sciences preferred.
